According to the Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar, on Feb 3, 2009, the governments of Egypt and Saudi Arabia have initiated measures to cut short the hands of the Iranian regime off Palestine and its meddling in Gaza.
The daily wrote: “One of the measures is to absorb Turkey in a treaty for confrontations against the Iranian regime’s meddling in the region.
Al-Akhbar added: “The latest visit of Saud al-Faisal, Saudi Foreign Minister with Hosni Mubarak and Mahmoud Abbas has taken place for this purpose.”
