On June 4, 1920, Mirza Kouchek Khan, along with his fighters of Jungle (northern Iran Jungles) entered Rasht among the cheering and jubilant welcome of the people of Rasht. Two days later, in a glorious meeting, he announced the formation of temporary government of Gilans’s Republic. In this meeting after Mirza’s speech, the Association of Iran’s red revolution announced its positions in a statement as follows:

1 – Association of Iran’s Red Revolution annuls the principles of monarchy and announces republic.
2 – The provisional Republic government takes responsibility of protection of life and properties of all citizens,
3 – Any treaties and contracts with any government that is against Iran’s interests, either old or recent, are annulled and void
4 – The provisional Republic Government considers all human nationalities equal and regards maintaining Islamic traditions its commitment.

Following the announcement of the provisional Republic of Gilan, the platform of the Republic was published. The platform emphasized public welfare, real freedom, equality of human beings regardless of their race and religion, sovereignty of Nation’s majority, independence and territorial integrity, freedom of gathering, press, labor, speech, education and equality of men and women in all aspects of social rights and abolishment of unemployment and freeload.
