Al-Anbar Province tribal sheikhs in Iraq issued a statement rejecting any kind of negotiations with Maliki’s government, conditions any such talks to Maliki’s military and paramilitary forces ending their aggressions against the cities, Al Jazeera TV reported.
This statement, containing the signatures of 70 Anbar tribal sheikhs reads in part, “The Anbar Tribal Military Forces Council is the military wing of the tribes and is obligated to defend the dignity and rights of the Anbar people.”
