During several consecutive demonstrations outside the White House, Iranians asked the United States new Administration to guarantee Ashraf residents’ rights and to condemn brutal attack on Ashraf residents’ families inside Iran and extensive arrest of students.

In the demonstration on Monday, Dr. David Kilgour, former Parliamentarian and minister from Canada emphasized necessity of guarantee of Ashraf residents’ rights according to the international law and conventions.

On Tuesday, Struan Stevenson, Vice President of Group of the European People’s Party-European Democrats, Co-Chair of the Friends of a Free Iran, UK and David Matas, prominent Canadian jurist delivered their speeches.

Struan Stevenson said: “The security and protection of Ashraf City must be guaranteed; Ashraf is the symbol of resistance and democracy against anti-human clerical regime. Adopting a common stance by US and Europe against the Iranian regime will send the strongest message to that regime that we will not bend before that regime’s wills.”

Referring to the US forces’ obligations in guaranteeing Ashraf City protection, David Matas said: “This is the US commitment, and as long as the US forces are in Iraq this observation must continue; even after US forces’ pull out these guarantees must continue.”

On Wednesday, the solidarity message of the Refugees community in Norway supporters of the Iranian Resistance was read out. In this demonstration, a petition addressed to the US president was signed by the US citizens asking for removal of the PMOI from the US State Department blacklist.
