Dr. Qassan Shaban, President of the Branch of International Relations at Marrymond University said Russia and China’s veto against the recent UN Security Council resolution to condemn the Syrian crackdown of dissidents is related to their interests with the Iranian regime, Al-Arabiya TV reported.
“The veto of Russia and China is related to their interests with the Iranian regime, not their interests with the Syrian government,” Dr. Shaban stressed. “Most of the Iranian regime’s nuclear sites are built by Russia and this comes at a huge cost accumulating to more than $40 billion dollars and Russia will never sacrifice these assets. China also has large economic interests with the Iranian regime.”
