A powerful blast at a mosque in Sana’a, capital of Yemen, left many killed and wounded during Eid al-Adha prayers marking the end of the Hajj pilgrimage, Al Jazeera TV reported on Thursday.
This blast was the result of a suicide attack by two individuals with suicide belts who entered this mosque at a police academy in downtown Sana’a.
In other reports, the city of Ta’izz in southeast Yemen was the scene of intense artillery barrage by Houthi rebels and troops loyal to ousted dictator Ali Abdullah Salah, leaving many civilians killed and injured.
This city has been the target of indiscriminate attacks many times by the paramilitary fighters.
