Mutlak calls for early elections or Maliki stepping down

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Saleh Mutlak and one of the leaders of the Iraqiya Coalition in an interview called for early elections or Maliki to step down from his post.
“There are foreign parties who control the decisions made in Iraq,” Mutlak said. “The current government has been built by the hands of the Iranian regime with the agreement of the US. However, the US departed Iraq and all the decision making is in the hands of the Iranian regime which decides for Maliki to stay in power or not.”
In response to a question on his stance in case the current crisis continues Dr. Mutlak said, “We seek early elections under the supervision of an interim government that itself does not take part in the elections. And if this is not reached, we call on the National Alliance to set Maliki aside and appoint a new prime minister. All parties inside the National Alliance demand Maliki to be set aside.”
