Following IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano’s return from Tehran and revelations being made that Iran’s own scientists took samples from Parchin without IAEA experts being present, former IAEA Deputy Director General Olli Heinonen said he doesn’t recall any other case where a government – itself under investigation for the possibility of building nuclear weapons – being allowed to use its own personnel to take samples from an area.
